OLI PRESIDENT AWARDED THE GRAND CROSS OF THE ORDER OF INDUSTRIAL MERIT
António Oliveira, President of OLI, was awarded the Grand Cross of the Order of Business Merit – Class of Industrial Merit, by the President of the Portuguese Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, at a ceremony held yesterday, 28 July, at the Belém Palace - Lisbon.
This distinction recognises António Oliveira's exceptional career in the industrial and business sector, highlighting his contribution to national economic development, the promotion of innovation and the international projection of Portuguese industry.
António Oliveira's career had previously been recognised with the EY Entrepreneur of the Year – Innovation award (2021) and a Special Award at the Export & Internationalisation Awards (2024) for his transformative role in leading OLI.
Since December 2021, António Oliveira has also been President of the General Council of the University of Aveiro, an institution with which he has had a relationship for over two decades.
The Order of Business Merit – Class of Industrial Merit aims to distinguish those who, as entrepreneurs or workers, have stood out for their significant contribution to the promotion and enhancement of industries in Portugal.
